I was about to write a review for this establishment when I saw this review. It’s as good as it gets, thanks Dan R. in Los Angeles, CA.

Super bomb and super friendly!

Okay, there’s a wait. Get over it. There’s always a wait, there’s always going to be one, it’s worth it. And truth be told, the line looks a lot more intimidating than it actually is. Spark up some conversations (or a joint — just kidding, its illegal to smoke in public *cough*) with some strangers or if you must, take some pictures and social network about it.

We were just visiting so were unfamiliar with the surrounding areas. You’ll find out quickly with doughnuts named “gay bar” that you are indeed — at least what seems like — the gayborhood. Everyone was super friendly. Haha.

Lots of cool names, flavors, and shaped doughnuts. Out of the ordinary from your typical mom n pop doughnut shop. And it’s not just because of these cool names and flavors — the quality and taste of the doughnut is superb!

The rundown:

— Blunt doughnut. A sugar / cinnamon doughnut with maple glaze tip and red sprinkles (to resemble a lit blunt). The guy at the register was super friendly and threw in an extra one of these because he said the first one didn’t have enough “spark” (sprinkles) on it. Haha. Nice guy.

— Voodoo Doll doughnut — So good. Probably my favorite. Typical chocolate glazed doughnut shaped and designed like a voodoo doll. Their signature doughnut, I had to try it!

— Old Dirty Bastard doughnut — So I told the guy who was helping me to make a recommendation, he recommended this. GEEZUS! I ate this first and was unable to finish the rest of my doughnuts until the following morning. All I remember is peanut butter and chocolate, the rest is a blur. We were in Denver on 4/20, give me a break. Haha 🙂

Overall I’m glad they placed one of these in Denver! And just in time for 4/20. Smart. Can’t wait to go back! I’ve been craving their doughnuts. They’ve opened a lot of fancy shmancy doughnut places here in LA like cronut and fronut but nothing beats a voodoo! Link to this review on YELP.
