Pulse of Vegas Blog

Ten years ago, give or take a few years, I mentioned to Tony LaRocco (of The Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas) that it would be really cool if you could buy an all day pass to the buffets. His response was: “they (the casinos) would never do it because they’d loose money.” This was said with his typical Brooklyn, New York / NYU arrogance.

Guess what Tony! It’s happening all over Las Vegas and it’s been happening for some time now.

I don’t remember who started it – maybe it was Circus Circus or Excalibur or…I do know that a bunch of casino hotels are offering the All-You-Can-Eat-All-Day-Long Buffet now and they have been for some time. I’ve been displaying AYCEADL Buffet links on this website since this world-class-all-American-pig-out started. Simply stated the AYCEADL Buffet is just what it sounds like: The buffet’ers can visit a buffet at a particular hotel as many times as they like (in a 24 hour period) from the first breakfast serving through lunch and through the last dinner serving for just one admittance price. The amount varies according to the particular hotel’s policy. For instance *The CIRCUS CIRCUS Hotel is charging $25.00 for their All-You-Can-Eat-All-Day-Long buffet, (kids 4-12, $20.00 per day – kids under 4 eat free.) EXCALIBUR HOTEL is offering an *All-You-Can-Eat-All-Day-Long-Buffet for $24.99 weekdays and $29.99 on Saturday and Sunday. LUXOR HOTEL is charging adults $29.99 for their AYCEADL weekday buffet and $34.99 on weekends. Kids 5+ pay $17.99. PALACE STATION has joined the AYCEADL list, offering “The Feast” Saturday thru Thursday for $19.99 adult / $16.99 child. Friday Seafood Night is $29.99 adult / $26.99 child. Visit the LasVegasBuffetClub’s Buffet Page for more information and links to these (hotel) websites.

Here’s more information:

The following story is a repost from (The LA Times) Richard Abowitz’s Movable Buffet.

“Does it say anything that the Miss USA pageant picks Perez Hilton as a celebrity judge and Miss America goes another way?”

“This press release today from the Miss America organization:”

“The Miss America Organization (MAO) announced today that Rush Limbaugh has been named as one of the national judges for the 2010 Miss America Pageant, which will be held at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, January 30 and broadcast live on TLC.”

“I admit Rush Limbaugh is not my image of a beauty judge. On the other hand Perez Hilton single-handedly made the Miss USA pageant at Planet Hollywood back in April a national news story. I don’t think Limbaugh has that kind of cheek. But we will see.”

Brian Kato Kaelin

The following story was originally published March 26, 2009:
“Kato Kaelin: From house guest to wedding guest” – LasVegasSun.com story By Melissa Arseniuk · March 26, 2009.

“America’s most notorious houseguest, Kato Kaelin, is about to make his Vegas debut as Sin City’s most notorious wedding guest.”

“Kaelin will assume the role of a “celebrity wedding crasher” in Planet Hollywood’s off-Broadway show, “Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding,” for two weeks. His first performance will be tomorrow [March 27] night and the actor will reprise the role through April 9.”

“Kaelin will arrive in Las Vegas this afternoon [March 26] and will be attending the celebrity-studded classic rock showcase at the Hilton, Monster Circus, this evening.”

“The 50-year-old actor sprung into the spotlight in 1994 during the O.J. Simpson murder trial. Once a struggling actor, Kaelin had been staying in Simpson’s guesthouse on the night the NFL All-Star’s ex-wife and lover were allegedly murdered. Kaelin served as a witness during both of Simpson’s trials and his inconsistent testimony and foggy memory led prosecutor Marcia Clark to call him a hostile witness.”
