The moon is at it again, guys. And this time it\u2019s going to help us let go of the past as we prepare for Jack Frost\u2019s winter reign.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow night [TONIGHT 11\/25,] the full moon will appear in all its spherical\u00a0glory, and Refinery29<\/em> kindly pointed this out<\/a>. But, this isn\u2019t any old full moon \u2013 it\u2019s actually known as the Mourning Moon<\/em>. Other societies refer to it as the Snow Moon<\/em> or\u00a0Fog Moon<\/em>.\u00a0Certain Native American tribes prefer to call it\u00a0The Moon When Deer Shed Antlers<\/em>. And speaking of shedding, this special moon is symbolic of autumn\u2019s end and winter\u2019s beginning.<\/p>\n

According to Pagan traditions<\/a>, the Mourning Moon is meant to signify a time of evolution<\/a>. As this moon rises in the sky, it is recommended that<\/a> we let go of the baggage we\u2019ve been holding on to. We must cleanse ourselves as we reflect on this year\u2019s happenings. Specifically, we must let go of anything that\u2019s weighing us down before the new year begins.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019d like to awaken your inner witch or wizard, there are several cleansing rituals you can perform beneath\u00a0this Mourning Moon<\/a>. First, think of all the past worries and problems you want to let go of. This can be something as simple as the splurge-y dress you bought yesterday that maybe you shouldn\u2019t have bought yesterday,\u00a0or as complex as a difficult breakup. Then, you can write all these memories\u00a0down on a piece of paper and submerge it in a cup of water (since this element is connected to the Mourning Moon). That way you\u2019re literally cleansing yourself of past baggage.<\/p>\n
