<\/a>“<\/strong>Thai basil<\/strong> is a cultivar group of basil. It has a more assertive taste than many other sweet basils. The herb has small leaves, purple stems and a subtle licorice or mint flavor” read more from Wikipedia<\/a>…<\/p>\n Thai Basil<\/strong> ( 5 locations in the Denver\/Colorado Springs<\/strong> area) is a fresh “now” restaurant offering Thai-Asian-Fusion<\/strong> cuisine.<\/p>\n In a perfect balance of Yin & Yang<\/strong><\/a><\/strong> ( \u9670\u967d<\/strong>, ) Thai Basil<\/strong> balances the old and new. California-modern <\/strong>design mixes with old-burl <\/strong>table tops, old-country cabinets, an Asian<\/strong> bed-frame (used as a dining island) here or there and maybe modern fibreglas art on the wall. I probably just “fused” the decor of the two locations I’ve visited: The Thai Basil Hang Out Grill <\/strong> (3301 W 38th Ave.) <\/strong>and the Washington Park <\/strong>location (540 East Alameda Ave<\/strong>.) The East Alameda<\/strong> location has the bed-frame and fibreglas; the TB Hang Out Grill<\/strong> incorporates the burl wood tables.<\/p>\n I acquired a serious appreciation for Pad Thai <\/strong> in Southern California<\/strong> and Thai Basil <\/strong> serves a beautiful Pad Thai<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese<\/strong> menu items include: starters<\/strong>, salads<\/strong>, soups<\/strong>, meats<\/strong>, seafoods<\/strong>, vegetables<\/strong>, <\/strong>noodles<\/strong>, rice<\/strong>, deserts<\/strong> and more. Thai Curries<\/strong>, Vietnamese Rice Noodle Bowl<\/strong>, Szechuan Asian Eggplant<\/strong>, Crispy Duck<\/strong> and Fried Rice <\/strong>are just a few facets of the fusion. Some of my other favorites – besides Pad Thai<\/strong> ($7.95) are: Coconut Soup<\/strong>, Satay Chicken<\/strong>, Thai Spring Roll<\/strong> and Kung Pao Chicken<\/strong>. <\/p>\n Thai Basil<\/strong> has a full Bar with a good selection of Asian<\/strong> and domestic beers. At the time of this post, The Thai Basil Hang Out Grill<\/strong> location is serving: (HANG ON TO YOUR HAT<\/strong>) $.25 cent <\/strong>domestic beers and $.50 <\/strong>cent imported beers.
