|
This is a Las Vegas
real-deal, serious, downtown, hotel casino. |
|
"Downtown Las Vegas'
premiere hotel-casino blending new Las Vegas attitude with the classic
Las Vegas swagger. The El Cortez is the longest continuously running
downtown hotel-casino in Las Vegas. In the heart of Las Vegas' Downtown
Fremont East District, the El Cortez Hotel and Casino underwent a
multi-million dollar renovation and now offers world-class dining,
entertainment, and gaming all while honoring the glitz and glamour of
vintage Las Vegas." |
-
"Play Downtown, Stay
Downtown.
Located off the strip in the historic Downtown area, the El
Cortez is the authentic Vegas experience that you have been
craving."
- "The El Cortez first opened its
doors downtown in 1941, and was so successful that it
attracted the attention of Bugsy Siegel and Meyer Lansky,
who bought the property. In 1963 it went from one ‘family’
to another, when Vegas icon Jackie Gaughan bought the El
Cortez."
- "There
are two ways to experience Vegas. The classic Vegas of the
Rat Pack and Fremont Street, and there’s the new Vegas of
the Strip. When you stay at the El Cortez, you get the best
of both worlds. The amenities and first-class treatment of
the Vegas from the brochures, but you also get the
authenticity of a true Downtown experience."
-
"Downtown Las Vegas is the Vegas
experience you’ve been waiting for. In the 2014 Best of Las
Vegas, the El Cortez was voted Best Locals Hotel. And who
would know better than the locals? Excitement, adventure,
and entertainment all come together at the El Cortez Hotel &
Casino. We offer an array of suites and rooms that fit your
style… and ours."

From YWS Architects.Com:
"Finally, Downtown Las Vegas can claim “wow power” with the new
El Cortez Cabana Suites. The El Cortez, downtown’s first resort
that opened in 1941, is the first to go modern by completely
renovating the former decaying Ogden House located across the
street from the hotel at 651 East Ogden Avenue." |
|
"Owner
Kenny Epstein
envisioned a complete overhaul of the decaying 102-room, dreary
Ogden House that was built in the 1970s and he got it. Even
Steve Wynn would be impressed. He wanted a vintage South
Beach-style property, which YWS Architects and Denver-based
interior designer Heather Hassan’s contemporary furnishings and
finishes accomplished with the new 64-boutique suite resort."

just started to burn bright. At Siegel’s 1941, we’re bringing
back that special moment in time. Enjoy a menu filled with
skillfully-prepared classic dishes, indulge in some wine or
cocktails. Open 24-hours a day, Siegel’s 1941 at El Cortez is

OUR NEW LOUNGE AND BAR THAT’S
MUCH MORE
Located between our Pit and Keno
areas just off of Fremont Street, Ike’s is our newest lounge.
Named for Ike Epstein, a bookmaker from Chicago who moved to Las
Vegas in 1959 to help open the Stardust, and the father of
current owner Kenny Epstein, Ike’s offers lounge seating and a
sports-viewing area replete with 10 televisions. Belly up to the
bar to order any drink you like, or food from Siegel’s Gameside.

Eureka! is defined as expressing
delight on finding, discovering or solving something. Those that
truly appreciate great food, craft beer and small-batch spirits
are discovering a better restaurant experience and Eureka! has
elevated it to an art form. In our rustic industrial
environment, we create incredible dining experiences in an
approachable atmosphere while leaving enduring memories one
burger at a time.
