From Las Vegas, drive South on I-15 to Blue Diamond Road (Exit 33) turn right.

Las Vegas changes fast and all the time. The Silverton Hotel and Casino has completed extensive renovations. This hotel has had a complete makeover.
(This info is a bit outdated, yet relevant.)

"Looking for a little more room with a full kitchen and barbecue area? Then, book a room at the adjacent 18-story tower called The Berkley, Las Vegas. This new building has all the amenities of a condo-hotel, with the convenience of a casino, entertainment and dining options right next door. Book a studio, a one bedroom suite or a two bedroom suite for your next visit to Las Vegas." (more below)
In the 90s Silverton was very appropriately called BOOMTOWN Hotel and Casino. Las Vegas was booming, Steve Wynn was winning with The Golden Nugget, The Mirage and Treasure Island and all was well in the desert. Boomtown was one of the first, suburban hotel/casinos. There was a state-of-the-art RV Park and Boomtown was a great escape from the city - lots of breathing room in the clean fresh air on Blue Diamond Road (the road to Pahrump, and Area 51.)

The rock group "HOOTIE AND THE BLOW FISH" [had] a home (lounge named after them) at Silverton: "HOOTIE AND THE BLOW  FISH'S - SHADY GROVE LOUNGE"

"Sometimes, the great outdoors is best enjoyed indoors - especially when you're hanging with friends at the bar of the Shady Grove Lounge. Specifically, inside a vintage 1950's Airstream trailer. Get motoring at our mini-bowling alley, or lounge under the canopy of a North American aspen. Sip an ice cold beer and share our irresistible finger foods while you shoot pool and watch sports action on our 12 plasma screens. Kick back in a plush leather chair and rendezvous with a friend or two."

"Silverton Casino Lodge features a 165,000 sq. ft. Bass Pro Shops on site and some of the most impressive aquariums in Las Vegas. Guests at Silverton Casino Lodge also enjoy free shuttle transportation, free Starbucks coffee service on the casino floor, a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, and complimentary wireless Internet access in public areas." - Silverton website

Information from August, 2020
Some information from Silverton Hotel Casino.

Here's a little story from the editor/webmaster
Back in the good ol' days when I was staying in the RV Park, a five-minute walk (perfect for a bit of exercise) would take me to the hotel swimming pool area for the Friday night Hawaiian Luau  or Steak Cookout...  Find other LV RV Parks

One evening wasn't so good. Before going into the casino to eat, drink and gamble, I regrettably decided to wash some clothes in the RV's 1/2-size bathtub. Well... I plugged up the drain, ran the water and added some detergent.

I locked the door and walked over to the casino, had a drink, ordered the Cobb Salad with their special honey-mustard dressing, then went to the machines to play. [BTW that Cobb Salad with the honey-mustard dressing was the bomb - this was when Boomtown first opened, 1994.]

Well, as you've figured out by now, later that night, after leaving the casino, and walking back to the RV Park (In those days the special rate was around $13.00 per night.) As I approached the rig, I noticed a huge puddle of water under the RV... Yes indeed, I forgot to turn off the bath water; it overflowed onto the floor of the RV, and right down onto the pavement. Mostly I was embarrassed - I was trying to be cool.

Long story short, I used towels, t-shirts etc. to sop up the water; in that heat -even at night- the floor and outside pad were soon dry, I'm sure there was some damage to the floorboards under the rug, nothing that was noticeable.

This is a true story from the Webmaster and Editor
