“Cinco de Mayo—or the fifth of May—commemorates the Mexican army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War (1861-1867). A relatively minor holiday in Mexico, in the United States Cinco de Mayo has evolved into a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage, particularly in areas with large Mexican-American populations. Cinco de Mayo traditions include parades, mariachi music performances and street festivals in cities and towns across Mexico and the United States.”

Story from NASA Perigee “Super Moon” On May 5-6 “May 2, 2012: The full Moon has a reputation for trouble. It raises high tides, it makes dogs howl, it wakes you up in the middle of the night with beams of moonlight stealing through drapes. If a moonbeam wakes you up on the night of May 5th, 2012, you might want to get out of bed and take a look. This May’s full Moon is a “super Moon,” as much as 14% bigger and 30% brighter than other full Moons of 2012” read more from science.nasa.gov…
From the editor & janitor: When the honorable mayor of Las Vegas, Jan Jones was in office, I heard her say (on a KDWN radio broadcast) that “the most favorable time to hit a jackpot was when there was a Full Moon;” I’m paraphrasing – it’s been a while. This is something I’ve heard a lot over the years.
Ex-Sherrif Pat Sullivan also said that “it’s possible” that he “walked in” on 2 boys having sex in locker room while working at Cherry Creek School and told them that he wouldn’t “tell” if they let him join in. He also admits that he gave date-rape drug to 30-something man with cognitive brain disorder.
The ex-sheriff is now free. He was not added to the sexual offender’s list. It appears that the ex-sheriff’s stellar career in law-enforcement earned him a get-out-of-jail card. Don’t we hope that the judges/lawyers know what they’re doing?
University of Colorado’s annual 4/20 Smoke Out may go up in a cloud of something resembling smoked-fish and marijuana or fish-smelling smoke, if it goes up at all. That is to say that the traditional on campus pot party/smoke-out may be extinguished by campus-officials applying fish-fertilizer on the school’s “Quad” in an attempt to quell the gathering. Last years’ smoke-out attracted around 10,000 according to CBS Denver.
The CU campus will be closed to all, except card-carrying students and faculty. Those who are out of the loop will be subject to arrest and a $750.00 fine. “Norlin Quad lawn areas will be closed to all people.” “Anyone, regardless of campus affiliation, who enters these areas will face a ticket for trespassing.”
Given the nature of potheads and students, might this be an open invitation to gather? Tomorrow April 20 we’ll know the answer to that question. Are beer sales in Boulder dipping with the advancing sale of Marijuana in this West-Coastish college town just fifteen minutes from the Coors Brewery? Half of this town is run by alumni who champion the football program and beer. And they are a powerful force with whom to reckon.
TV producer and host Dick Clark died of a “massive heart attack” after a medical procedure at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, his spokesman said.
Law enforcement sources said there are no signs of anything unusual and that a death certificate is expected to be signed by a doctor at the hospital with no further investigation.
Clark had a long career on both sides of the camera, hosting the New Year’s Eve special from Times Square in New York City as well as “American Bandstand,” “$25,000 Pyramid” and specials such as the Miss USA pageant. More from LATimes.Com
Major Removal Threatens Cloud’s Pryor Herd
BLM expands removal plan for young Pryor Mustangs
BILLINGS, Mont. (April 5, 2012)—Yesterday, BLM issued their Decision Record to permanently remove up to 40 young Pryor mustangs from their home in the mountains of southern Montana. The bait-trapping operation would begin no earlier than June 4th and could continue until September 30th.
“Surprisingly, the removal decision exceeds the level they outlined in their preliminary Environmental Assessment,” states Ginger Kathrens, Executive Director of The Cloud Foundation. “Regardless of the nearly 10,000 comments sent to BLM requesting they proceed with caution, BLM has significantly increased the number of young horses to be removed. So much for listening to the wishes of the American Public.” read more...

With the anniversary of the Columbine school-shootings coming up on April 20, Columbine is in the news again. This morning, Denver’s (KHOW Radio 630) Peter Boyles’ was talking about the Columbine shooters as he’s been doing for the past several days. Talking specifically about the possibility that – a year before the shootings at Columbine – Harris & Klebold were “mishandled” by police at the time of their well-publicized arrest “from the night of January 30, 1998 when Eric and Dylan were arrested for breaking into a van and stealing items contained their[sic] in.” The speculation is that possible “mishandling” by authorities triggered the Columbine Massacre. Abuse? Sexual abuse? These terms were mentioned several times during the interviews by guests and Boyles. Even the name of X-Arapahoe County Sherrif Patrick Sullivan’s – who last week received a slap-on-the-wrist sentence in a trading-meth-for-sex charge – name was brought up. See previous post (below.)
The drawing above by Eric Harris possibly depicts (according to some including the mother of one of Columbine’s survivors, Donna Taylor, mother of wounded Columbine survivor Mark Taylor) the aforementioned abuse by the police that night of January 30, 1998.
“In November of 2000, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office released 11,000 pages of interviews and reports to the public. In the 11,000 pages are reports from the arresting officers of January 30, 1998. They can be found at pages 10560 through 10603. The entire 11,000 pages can be downloaded from the Boulder News here. Page 10589 is a drawing by Eric of the scene that night” (above.)
“The drawing depicts where the van was, where Eric and Dylan were and where a couple of other vehicles were parked that night. The circles above the cars are rocks that divide the parking area from a field. This happened along Dear Creek Canyon Road in Littleton. Above the rocks is a field of weeds with no distinguishing natural landmarks of any sort. However, as you can see, Eric drew something there.”
“Some have speculated what this picture represents. The following explains what they see. Look at the picture carefully, it maybe better to print this page so that you can see it better. Take a bottle of white out and remove the horizontal page lines. Next remove the three angled lines just above the center left of the drawing. Next remove the swirls of the drawing, leaving the right part of the drawing alone. If you did this right, what should be left is a drawing of person on all fours with another person standing behind them. Notice how the standing person has a star on his chest. Some people believe that the drawing is of a child being sexually assaulted by a police officer. Below are their arguments for their case.” read more from Columbine-Angels.Com/family_request
My take on the above is that perhaps the figure of “a child’ is more of a figure of a dog/animal with a tail. Maybe Harris was “saying” that he was treated like a dog by police. This seems more accurate to me, but it’s just speculation along with my ability to see.
Also on the program this morning was Columbine lawyer who reportedly deposed the parents of both Harris and Klebold, *John DeCamp. He claims that he can explain many things about Columbine. He seems to believe in the “mishandling” theory by authorities as well as the cover up by drug companies of the drug Luvox. Eric Harris was using Luvox at the time of the Colorado tragedy.
Well, stay tuned to Denver radio tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. Denver time. Boyles will be talking about this situation once again. Lawyer John Decamp will be there discussing his theories. He sounds a bit sketchy to me. I guess we’ll see.
*DeCamp was previously (2002) involved in a lawsuit “that claimed several video game distributors and moviemakers shared blame for the Columbine High School massacre.” That case was dismissed by U.S. District Judge Lewis Babcock.

Patrick Sullivan, Ex-Colo. Sheriff, Pleads Guilty To Meth-For-Sex Charges (PHOTOS, VIDEO)
04/ 3/12 04:45 PM ET
CENTENNIAL, Colo. — A former Colorado sheriff known for his crusade against youth drug use has pleaded guilty to charges of trading methamphetamine for sex.
Patrick Sullivan pleaded guilty Tuesday to felony possession of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor count of solicitation for prostitution. He was the sheriff in Arapahoe County from 1984 until 2002.
The 69-year-old was arrested after a sting operation last year in which investigators say he offered methamphetamine to a man in exchange for sex. He was held in custody in a jail that was named after him.
Prosecutors say they want Sullivan to serve time behind bars, while defense attorneys are seeking probation finish this story
From the editor: The rumor around Denver is that Sullivan got this slap-on-the-wrist because allegedly he can roll-over on Denver fat-cats who might be implicated if he testifies. Maybe this isn’t over yet…
UPDATE April 7, 2012: What’s it all about? Here’s an older story from Westword magazine: Pat Sullivan: Tales of meth for masturbation, gay porn in bust of ex-Arapahoe sheriff.
“according to a probable cause affidavit on view below, he’s been busy lately. On October 4, the document states, Arapahoe County deputies received a call about an “unwanted male party” at a home in Centennial. According to CBS4, the home in question provides shelter for recovering addicts — and apparently, some of them wanted the man later identified as Sullivan to hit the highway.”
Just shy of a month later, on November 13, members of the South Metro Drug Task Force were told by a pair of confidential informants that they would “definitely” be able to obtain meth from Sullivan in exchange for “sexual acts” — something they said they’d done before. Shortly thereafter, a series of phone calls and text messages led to a planned rendezvous in Aurora.
The affidavit notes that the home was outfitted with audio and video equipment prior to the planned meeting. That gear later recorded Sullivan handing the source a packet that tested positive for meth in the bedroom of the house. Sullivan also had a second bag of meth on his person when cops swooped in and took him into custody.
In the wake of the arrest, a search of Sullivan’s home was conducted, with what’s described as a large quantity of gay pornography being seized. Meanwhile, Jonathan Elinoff, a producer for embattled KHOW host Tom Martino, provided law enforcement and CBS4 with videotape of an interview conducted with one William Hadley, who said he and Sullivan had shared drugs and more plenty of times in the past.
“I mean we’ve sat at Cheesman Park in his (Sullivan’s) SUV and smoked the fuck out of a lot of dope,” Hadley said. He added that he’d masturbated in front of Sullivan at the former sheriff’s request — and he wasn’t the only one. A second man interviewed by Elinoff claimed that Sullivan buys addicts drugs “in order for them to take their clothes off. That’s the power he has over them, their addiction.” read more from Westword
